From the Desk of Communications Coming Soon
Hey histio community! This is the Strategic Commnications Associate, Peter Yanefski, here.

I just wanted to briefly pop into the blog to talk as myself and announce that more of the same is to come. In addition to being in charge of most of the wide communications we share from the Association, I also am an editor on this blog with Deanna. In an effort to take the Association’s message further this year, and in years after, I am making it a mission of mine to attend more local and regional events with the idea of communicating our mission in person.
So, starting in March, with the Greater Pitman Chamber of Commerce Meeting, I will be checking in to report, from a communications (and some outreach) perspective, any updates or general happenings relevant to histio in our local community, and rare spaces. To give you insights you can use to engage with your local communities about histio.
This series was actually going to begin today with a great Rare Disease Day event hosted by the FDA and NIH at the NIH Headquarters in Bethesda, Maryland. However, because of recent changes made by the new federal administration to how grant funding is administered to and through the NIH, they thought it best to postpone it until they have more defined direction to give us rare disease organizations.
We also had a few Histio Ambassadors who attended a different Rare Disease Week event this past Monday, and we will update with some recaps from that soon.
