Annual Campaigns

Ways to support Histio Warriors throughout the year

There are opportunities to contribute to research, student scholarships, awareness and more all year round through our general donation form. We also offer specific opportunities through planned annual campaigns that are held throughout the year.

Awareness Month Campaign

Histiocytosis Awareness Month is celebrated in September annually to shine the light on histiocytic disorders, to foster hope in the Histio Community, and to engage and inspire people to get involved with the Histiocytosis Association. It’s also a great time to create amazing fundraising opportunities to support the many programs of the Histiocytosis Association that help people around the world.

The overall theme for Histiocytosis Awareness Month is Know Histio.

For questions or more information about Histiocytosis Awareness Month activities, contact us at outreach@histio.org.

Histio Scholarship Fund

Each year, the Histiocytosis Association provides an educational scholarship program for graduating high school seniors and undergraduate college students impacted by histiocytic disorders in the United States through our Histiocytosis Student Scholarship Program. The Histio Scholarship Fund has been created to ensure this program can continue for many years to come.

Workplace Giving

Workplace Giving Campaigns have a significant impact in raising awareness and funds to fight histiocytic disorders. Every year, people nationwide help create a world free of histiocytic disorders by contributing through their employer’s charitable giving campaign.

Participating in a charitable giving campaign sponsored by your employer is easy.  Many national and local corporations offer their employees an opportunity to make a charitable donation through payroll deductions. Simply sign up to make a contribution by directing a portion of your paycheck to the Histiocytosis Association and your tax-deductible donation is automatically sent to us.

Types of campaigns include (but are not limited to):

  • Independent Campaigns
  • United Way
  • Matching Gifts

Dear Friends Campaign

So often our friends and families are looking for ways to spread awareness and make a difference in the lives of patients with histiocytic disorders. The Dear Friends Campaign began in October 2001 as a letter writing campaign and continues to be a simple and creative way to spread awareness, raise funds and truly impact the lives of patients living with these rare diseases. Over the years our Dear Friends efforts have evolved and today includes a digital format.

GivingTuesday

GivingTuesday is a global generosity movement unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and the world. GivingTuesday takes place on the Tuesday immediately following Black Friday and Thanksgiving in the United States (typically the 1st Tuesday in December). Creating a Facebook Fundraiser is a great way to make the most of GivingTuesday.
